The Raynox DCR730 lens is designed for use with almost all popular digital still cameras and video camcorders in the market by using either a Lens Holder Tube or an Adapter Ring or the both of them, which are available separately. DCR-730 lens broadens angle of view 37% more than original camera lens. The lens is made of high index optical glass elements which obtain the maximum resolution power of 375 lines/mm at center (MTF30%), There will be no reduction of light value when this conversion lens is attached on the camera's lens. DCR-730 is also suitable to the 3-CCD chip or mega-pixel Digital Camcorders. However extra adapter rings are needed for camcorders which do not have the same 52mm threads as the DCR730.
In addition, this versatile wide angle lens can be brought to focus throughout the zooming distance of your digital camera, ie. it has full-zoom capability, whether it’s at 2x or 12x optical zoom!
Possessing high resolution of 375lines/mm at the centre of image, the DCR-730 actually slightly outperforms the professional grade lens DCR-6600PRO which has 350lines/mm. Image quality is considered very good at this price. (Don’t believe, you can go check out camera shops in Singapore if they offer something like this at this price!) It can also be used as a convenient back-up wide angle lens due to its small storage size.
This is a very affordable yet highly useful lens which gives a wide angle of 0.7x. Of course, barrel distortion is unavoidable at this magnification. (However, if you want the best wide angle quality, please purchase the Raynox DCR-66000PRO version instead.) But good news is there is actually a FREE way to rectify the barrel distortion using computer software. Please see link below:

The DCR730 is lightweight, compact and definitely a very useful tool for your camera bag, especially during festive occasions! See link here. Scroll down to view the 3rd set of pictures.

Compared to the wide angle lenses of Canon, Nikon and other famous brands which normally cost between $170-$300 in Singapore, the Raynox DCR730 is more affordable (yet maybe of similar quality) and can be used on ANY type of brands. However it cannot accept filters as there is no threading, unlike the DCR6600-PRO.
This seems to be an EXCELLENT lens at this price. See different shots taken by this lens. Please click here for Canon and other digital cameras.
